Noorpur Gujran Vegetable Farmersproducer Company Limited is based right here in our village, Noorpur Gujran. You can find us at Balbir Singh’s place, who is the son of Hari Ram. Most people know the family, so it was easy for us to find a spot to start things up. We are mostly focused on the vegetables that we grow in the surrounding fields. It’s a lot of work getting everything from the dirt to the market, and that is why we decided to group together. We don't have a fancy office or a big sign out front. It’s just a local operation run by the same people you see out in the fields every morning. We talk about what seeds are doing well and how to handle the pests this year. It’s very informal, but we get the work done. Sometimes we meet under a tree or inside the house, depending on the weather. The goal is just to help each other out with the vegetable crops so nobody is left struggling on their own. We aren't some big city corporation; we are just farmers who know that working together makes more sense. Balbir is usually around to help with whatever comes up. It’s a quiet life, but the work is steady and it keeps us all connected to the land and each other here in Noorpur Gujran.
