Vasudev Departmental Store

Vasudev Departmental Store has been in Shop No 10 for a while now. It's right in the Shopping Complex in Sector 46, Faridabad. Usually, the day starts early when the morning milk arrives. I spend a lot of time arranging things on the shelves because space is tight in here. The Huda Market area gets quite crowded, especially on weekends when everyone is out doing their chores. There is a specific way the light hits the front of the shop in the afternoon. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so there is always cleaning to do. Most people from the nearby blocks know where we are. We see the same faces every morning and evening. It's just a regular place where you find what you need for the house. I keep track of what’s running low on a small notepad I keep by the till. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but everyone knows it's us. Living and working here in Faridabad means you get used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The doors stay open until late evening when the market starts to quiet down. It’s not a fancy place, just a simple shop in Sector 46 where things are kept in their usual spots on the racks. I spend most of my time standing behind the counter or checking the boxes in the back room. The fan hums in the corner and sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out. It's a simple life.
