You can find us at Plot No. 36 over in Sector 27-C. It’s a typical industrial plot, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly tanks and pipes because of the work we do. There’s a specific smell that stays in your clothes—not a bad one, just that chemical scent you get used to after working here long enough. We spend a lot of our day checking valves and making sure the storage areas stay at the right temperature. The floors are concrete and hard on the feet, so most of us wear those thick-soled boots. Sector 27-C is a bit quieter than the main commercial hubs, which is nice. We have a small office area tucked away in the front where the phone rings more than it probably should. We handle the mixtures and the packing right here on site. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which gives us a five-minute break to stand outside. It’s honest work and we’ve got a steady rhythm going. The neighbors at Plot 35 and 37 are good people, we help each other out with tools sometimes. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit for a tour, but it’s where we get things done. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure everything is sealed tight before it leaves the yard. We have been in this spot for a long time.
