The clinic is located right at 5r/5N. I. T. and mostly we deal with folks who’ve had some kind of accident or just have bad joints. It’s not the fanciest place, but we keep it clean and the chairs are usually full by ten in the morning. Being a trauma centre means things can get pretty hectic without much warning. One minute it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and the next, someone is being rushed in because they fell off a ladder or had a bike mishap. We’ve seen a lot of broken bones over the years. Most of our day is spent looking at x-rays and helping people get their casts fitted properly. The N.I.T. area is busy, so there’s always noise coming in from the street. We’ve got a small team here and we all know each other’s habits by now. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks and that’s a real tragedy for the morning shift. We don’t really do much fancy talk here. If your leg is broken, we fix it and tell you how to take care of the bandage. It’s straightforward work. People come in worried, and we just try to get them sorted so they can go home. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with patients to worry about that.
