Subham Store

Subham Store is my small corner of Palwal. It’s a general store, so we carry a bit of everything that people might need in a hurry. I open the shop early every morning because there’s always someone needing milk or bread before they head off to work. The shelves are packed pretty tight with jars of biscuits, packets of pulses, and soaps. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the customers by their first names. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while I bag up their items. I don't have a computerized billing system or anything; I just use a calculator and a notebook. It works fine for me. Sometimes children come in with a few coins for candy, and those are the best moments of the day. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so I’m constantly wiping things down. It’s a quiet life, mostly. I spend the slow hours restocking the shelves or checking the expiry dates on the snacks. I don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local shop where you can get your daily supplies without any fuss. It’s a steady routine that I’ve grown very used to over the years. I just try to keep the things people ask for the most right there on the front counter.
