Steelweld Engineering

You can find Steelweld Engineering over at Plot No.-2 on Dabua Pali Road. It’s a bit out of the way, but that gives us plenty of space to work with the bigger steel pieces. The yard is usually full of offcuts and scrap that we’ll eventually find a use for. We do a lot of welding here, so there’s always that smell of burnt metal in the air. It’s not for everyone, but we don't mind it. I started this place because I liked working with my hands more than sitting in a chair. Most of the guys here feel the same way. We aren't big on fancy titles. Everyone chips in with the heavy lifting when it's needed. Dabua Pali Road gets pretty muddy when it rains, which makes moving the steel a bit of a nightmare, but we manage. We’ve got a couple of welding stations and some cutting equipment that’s seen better days, but they still get the job done. We don't talk much while we’re working because of the masks and the noise. We just get on with it. When a customer brings in a drawing, we sit down at the workbench and figure out the best way to weld it up. It’s steady work. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the gates or the frames we build don't fall apart at the seams.
