Soki General Store

Soki General Store is located at 2H/92 in the NIT area of Faridabad. We are quite close to the Seva Samiti building, which is how most people find us if they are new to this lane. It is a small space, but we try to fit in as much as we can on the wooden racks. Every morning starts with sweeping the front and checking what ran out the day before. We carry basic stuff like bread, eggs, biscuits, and washing powder. The neighborhood is fairly quiet during the middle of the day, but the mornings are a different story. You can hear the sounds of the street and the local vendors going by. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a simple counter and shelves filled with daily essentials. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit by the door to catch some light. We have been here for some time, so we recognize almost everyone who walks in. It’s a lot of work keeping track of all the small items, especially when kids come in for candies and change their minds ten times. We just try to keep things simple and make sure the tea leaves and sugar are always in stock because that is what people ask for the most.
