Sippun Metal Engineers

Our shop is number 36-21/3 on Mathura Road, right across from where Pratap Steel is located. It’s a busy stretch of road and there is always something going on outside. Sippun Metal Engineers has been here for a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Inside the shop, it’s mostly metal scraps and heavy-duty machines. We spend most of our time grinding down edges and fitting parts together. The lights inside are a bit dim, so we have to use portable lamps when we are doing the fine work. There’s an old radio in the corner that plays the local station, mostly just for background noise. We don’t have any fancy office furniture, just a wooden desk and some stools that we’ve had since we opened. The floor is constantly covered in tiny metal filings, so we have to sweep up every couple of hours. It’s hard on the shoes, that’s for sure. We get a lot of walk-in traffic because of our location on Mathura Road. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for directions or to see if we can fix a small hinge for them. We try to help out when we can. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We just work with metal and try to keep the machines running throughout the long day.
