Sarvodya Hospital

People know us here in Sec-19 Gopi Colony. Old Faridabad is a busy place, and it’s always loud outside the doors. Most days, I get here early before the sun is too hot. There is always someone waiting by the gate. It’s not a huge fancy building like the ones you see in the magazines, just a hospital where things get done. We spend a lot of time on our feet. The floors are tiles that have seen better days, but we keep them clean enough. Usually, the hallway is full of families sitting on benches, talking low or just staring at the walls. It gets a bit cramped when the afternoon shift changes over. You hear the fans whirring and the sound of cars honking on the road outside. We deal with all sorts of things, from small scrapes to people who are really quite sick. Sometimes the water cooler breaks or the lights flicker, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Nobody here tries to act like it’s a five-star hotel. We just show up, do the charts, talk to the relatives, and try to get through the queue before the day ends. It’s a lot of work, and some nights I go home with my back aching, but the people in Gopi Colony need a place to go, so we keep the doors open.
