Saroj Engineering Works

Saroj Engineering Works is tucked away at Plot No 8 on the Ashoka Enclave Dabua Pali Road. It is not the easiest place to find if you are not from around here, but we like it well enough. The yard is usually full of heavy metal pieces and some old equipment that we use for various jobs. Every morning starts with the sound of the shutters going up and the smell of grease. We do a lot of different things here, mostly involving cutting and joining metal for whatever people need. The floors are concrete and stained with oil from over the years, and we do not bother much with keeping it looking like a showroom. It is a workshop, after all. On rainy days, the sound on the roof is so loud you cannot hear yourself think, but we keep working through it. We have a few old benches where we sit and eat our lunch, mostly just talking about the day's tasks or the traffic on Dabua Pali Road. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is just how things go sometimes. We are just a small team trying to get through the pile of orders we have. People bring us sketches on scraps of paper, and we try our best to make sense of them. It is practical work and it fits us just fine. There is no corporate talk here, just work.
