About Saini Beej Bhandar – Agriculture & Farming in Faridabad
Saini Beej Bhandar has been sitting on Mohna Road in Ballabhgarh for a long time. This road is always busy with tractors and farmers coming in from the nearby villages. We deal mostly in seeds and things for the fields. Our shop has that earthy smell of grain and burlap bags. It’s not a polished place; the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is usually covered in a bit of stray seed or dust. We don't mind it, though, because it shows we’re working. Farmers come in to talk about the weather and which seeds are doing best this season. We listen more than we talk most of the time. Mohna Road can get very muddy when it rains, and that mud usually finds its way into the shop on people's boots. We just sweep it out and keep going. We don't have any fancy computer systems for tracking everything; a lot of it is just kept in ledgers or in our heads. It’s a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us and the people in Ballabhgarh. We aren't trying to sell anyone something they don't need. If the soil isn't right for a certain seed, we’ll tell them. It’s just how we do business here. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but it feels right to be part of the local farming community on Mohna Road.
