Sai General Store

Our little shop, Sai General Store, is located at 3 D/36 in the B.P. area of Nit, Faridabad. It is a residential neighborhood and we have been part of this street for a long time. The address is 121001 if you are looking at a map. We have a small front where we keep the newspapers and some of the bigger items that do not fit inside. The space is tight because we try to fit in as much as we can for the neighbors. We have shelves for spices, cleaners, and all the little things people forget to buy at the big markets. The floor is made of old stone and it is a bit uneven in places. We spend our days chatting with neighbors who come by for a loaf of bread or some eggs. It is a quiet life for the most part. The weather in Faridabad can be quite extreme so we are either hiding from the sun or wrapping up against the cold. We do not have any big signs or bright lights at the entrance. Most people know us by the yellow crates we keep outside. We handle everything ourselves from ordering the stock to sweeping the front step. It is just a simple general store and we do not try to be anything else. We just like being here and seeing the kids grow up as they come in for sweets after school. It is a good place.
