S. V. Ramamoorthy & Sons is located at New No 23 (Old No 12), Audiappa Naicken Street. It’s an old street with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you walk down the sidewalk. Our building has been here for a long time, and it shows in the walls and the way the floors are worn down. We are a family-run kind of place, and we’ve seen the street change over the decades. It’s a narrow area, so things can get a bit tight when we are moving goods in or out of the entrance. We handle a variety of items, and the shop is usually full of stuff waiting to be sorted or picked up. We don't have a modern corporate setup. Instead, we have old desks and ledgers that have been around for years. The atmosphere is very traditional. We know most of the people who walk past our door by name. It’s the kind of place where we sit and have a cup of tea while discussing the day’s work. There aren’t any glossy brochures here. We just explain what we have and see if it helps the person who walked in. Audiappa Naicken Street is our home, and we’ve become a permanent fixture on this block. We just take things one day at a time, keeping the business going the way it’s always been done by our family.
