Root Spice

We started Root Spice here in Sector 21d, Faridabad, because we wanted to have a spot where people could get actual spices that haven't been sitting on a shelf for years. Being in Indira Enclave, we see a lot of the same faces every week. It is just a small place at G1-28, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. My family has always been into cooking with real ingredients, so opening this was a way to stay busy and provide something useful to the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time sorting through what comes in, making sure the quality is okay before we put it out for sale. It gets a bit dusty in here sometimes with all the grinding and packing, but that is just part of the job. Some days are quieter than others. People come in asking for advice on what to use for certain dishes, and we just tell them what we know from our own kitchens. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the containers are full and the floor is swept. It is a simple life running a spice shop in this part of town. We are right by the local market area, so it's easy to find us if you are already out doing your daily chores. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized as much as we can. It takes work but it's worth it.
