Ramesh Kirayana Store

Ramesh Kirayana Store is right in the middle of Palwal. It is a traditional shop where we sell all the daily essentials people need for their kitchens. We have large sacks of rice and flour sitting on the floor and the smell of raw spices is always in the air. It is a busy spot because everyone needs their lentils and sugar and cooking oil. We spend the morning weighing out portions on the scale and tying them up in small bags. The shelves are packed with bars of soap, packets of tea, and different kinds of snacks. There is not much room to walk around inside because of all the stock we keep. Palwal can be a dusty place so we have to wipe down the jars and packets quite often. We know many of our customers by their names because they have been coming here for a long time. It is a lot of standing and lifting heavy bags but that is just how the work goes. We don't have any computers or fancy systems here we just use a notebook to keep track of things. The shop stays open until late in the evening when the last few people come in for milk or matches. It is an honest way to earn a living and we just focus on keeping the basic items in stock for the neighborhood.
