Rajeev Kirana Store

Rajeev Kirana Store is located on Gurudwara Road in Jawahar Colony, right at number 596. It’s a busy little spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or lentils. I spend most of my day behind the counter or moving sacks of rice around. The shelves are packed pretty tight because we try to keep a bit of everything that a household might need. You’ll see stacks of soap, bags of flour, and jars of spices wherever there’s an inch of space. It’s not a supermarket with bright lights and fancy aisles; it’s more of a traditional shop where we know most of the people who walk through the door by name. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in just for a single piece of candy, and that’s fine too. My family helps out during the rush hours, otherwise it would be hard to manage the constant flow of people. We get our deliveries early in the morning, so the sidewalk is usually blocked with crates for an hour or so. It’s a bit chaotic, but we like the energy of the colony. There’s always someone stopping by to chat while they wait for their groceries to be bagged. We don't do home delivery with fancy apps, but if someone nearby can't walk over, we usually find a way to get it to them.
