R K Batteries

R K Batteries is found at Neelam Chowk on Mathura Road, specifically at 16/7. This part of the road is always packed with cars and bikes. Since we deal with batteries, the shop is full of heavy items stacked on the floor and on sturdy metal racks. It’s a bit of a workout just moving things around. The smell of lead and plastic is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We spend a lot of time checking voltages and cleaning terminals. The shop is right in the middle of all the action at Neelam Chowk, so it’s never quiet. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we just keep working with flashlights. We have a small bench in the corner where we sit during breaks to eat our lunch brought from home. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. Grease gets on our clothes and hands no matter how careful we are. The floors are concrete because they need to hold all that weight. We’ve got a big sign out front but the traffic moves so fast people sometimes miss us at first. We see a lot of commuters who are having trouble with their vehicles and need a quick battery check. It is mostly just hard work and keeping track of the different battery sizes we have in stock. We don't have much room for anything else. It's just us and the heavy batteries in this 16/7 spot.
