We’ve been here in the Main Market Hasanpur Palwal for a good while now. Every morning starts about the same, getting the shutters up and sweeping the dust off the front step before the first few people start wandering by. It’s a busy spot, especially when the sun is out and everyone is doing their errands. Inside, the shelves are pretty packed with everything people usually need for their houses. We keep things like soap, cooking oils, lentils, and all those small bits and pieces that you suddenly realize you’re out of. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where the lighting is a bit dim in the back and the counter is worn smooth from years of people leaning on it. Sometimes the stock takes up too much room and we have to stack boxes in the corners, but we know where everything is. People from around Hasanpur stop in, maybe grab a packet of biscuits or some washing powder, and we talk for a minute about the weather or how crowded the market is today. It’s a lot of lifting heavy sacks and making sure the jars are filled up. By the time evening comes around, the street gets even noisier with motorcycles and carts. We just keep busy until it’s time to lock up again. It’s just how things go day after day here, keeping the store running and making sure the shelves aren't empty when the neighbors come by.
