Niranjan Lal Departmental Store

We run the Niranjan Lal Departmental Store in Faridabad. The shop is located at A 1/1 in Sarai Khwaja. We are right in the Jharia Market area, very close to the Shiv Mandir. It's a busy little spot, especially on days when people are going to the temple. We try to keep a bit of everything in stock. It is a departmental store but it’s not like those big ones you see in malls. It’s more of a local place for the people living nearby. We have been here for years. The shop has seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood. We know which neighbors like which brands. It's a small space but we make it work by stacking things high. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. The floor is just plain stone and the shelves are old wood. We don't have a computer for billing, we mostly just use a notebook and a calculator. It’s faster for us that way. People from Sarai Khwaja stop by on their way home from work. The 121003 area is our home. We open up early and usually close once the market starts thinning out at night. It’s just a regular shop serving regular people.
