Nanda General Store & Boot House

In the Main Road Sec 10 Market, we have Shop No-925. That’s where Nanda General Store & Boot House is situated. It’s a bit of an odd mix, maybe, having shoes and groceries together. It happened because my uncle had a lot of footwear stock he needed to sell and I wanted to open a food shop, so we just combined them. It works out fine for everyone. People coming in for a new pair of sandals often remember they need salt or biscuits too. Sector 10 is a good area in Faridabad and the market gets very crowded on weekend evenings. We have a lot of slippers and basic shoes, mostly for daily wear around the house or street. The general store side has all the usual stuff like soap, detergent, and packaged snacks. It’s a family business, and we've been part of this market for many years now. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack the boxes very high. Sometimes a box of shoes might fall, but we just pick it up and keep going. We don't use any fancy billing machines here. I just write the totals down on a pad or just remember the prices in my head. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess, but it works for us. We stay open until late because people often forget things until the last minute before dinner. It’s a loud place but we like being in the middle of it.
