Mamta General Store

We are located over at F-440 in S.G.M Nagar, which most people call Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Nagar. We are right near Arpan in Faridabad. The store is called Mamta General Store. It’s been our daily routine for years to come here, unlock the padlocks, and get things ready for the day. Faridabad can be a busy place, and S.G.M Nagar has a lot of people moving around. The shop itself is packed with everything from notebooks to pulses. We don't have much of a system, just putting things where they fit. Sometimes I forget where I tucked a specific brand of toothpaste, and I have to look through a few boxes. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how a real general store usually is. The neighborhood kids often stop by on their way home from school to spend a few coins on sweets. I try to keep the jars of toffees right at the front where they can see them. We don't have any staff, just us family members taking turns behind the counter. It gets tiring standing on your feet all day, especially when the supply trucks arrive and we have to carry everything inside ourselves. But it’s okay, it keeps us busy. We don't have any fancy signs or bright lights, just the address F-440 and our name on the board. It’s a simple business for simple needs in Faridabad.
