M. R. General Store

M. R. General Store is tucked away on Palla Road Village in Sector 35 of Faridabad. We’re located in the Sarai Khawaja area, specifically near the lane that everyone calls School Wali Gali. Being so close to the school means we see a lot of kids popping in for snacks or stationery items before and after their classes. It’s a lively part of the village, and there’s always someone walking by the front door. The store itself is quite simple. We have the usual grocery items, some household goods, and stuff that students might need for their homework. I spend most of my day behind the counter, keeping an eye on the stock and making sure the floor is clean. The lane can get pretty narrow and crowded, especially when school lets out, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We don't use any corporate talk or fancy computer systems here. Everything is done the old-fashioned way with a notebook and a pen for accounts. We know our regulars by name, and we usually know what they want before they even ask. Faridabad is a busy city, but our little corner in Palla Road Village feels a bit more like a community. We just focus on keeping the basics on the shelves and being there when the neighbors need a loaf of bread or some sugar. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us busy.
