Jawahar Lal General Store

Jawahar Lal General Store is a basic shop located in Palwal. We don't have a fancy street name or a big glass front. It’s just a traditional store where you can find almost anything you need for your house. We stock things like spices, flour, bathing soaps, and even some basic medicines for headaches or fever. The shop is quite old, and the wooden shelves have grown dark with age. I spend a lot of my day sitting on a plastic chair near the door. Palwal is a place where everyone knows everyone else. So, when someone walks in, we usually spend five minutes talking about their family before we even get to what they want to buy. It’s a slow pace of life here. During the summer, it gets very hot, and the air stays still inside the shop. I have a small radio that plays old songs in the background. It keeps me company when there are no customers. We don't do any home deliveries or have a website. If you need something, you just walk down and get it. I keep a ledger for the regular families who pay at the end of the month. It’s all built on trust. There are no fancy tricks or marketing here. We just provide the things people use every day and try to keep the prices fair. It’s a simple existence and I’m very used to it.
