Our small office is tucked away at House Number 25 in Gandhi Mandi. It’s right near the Jain Mandir, which makes it easy for people to find us if they know the neighborhood. Being in the Mandi means there is always noise and people moving about. Jai Ambey Cottex deals with cotton and textiles, which is what most of the talk is about around here. The building itself is older, and we use most of the space for storage and keeping track of our books. You’ll usually find a couple of us sitting around the main desk dealing with paperwork or talking to suppliers on the phone. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where we get things done. We handle a lot of fabric, so there’s always a bit of lint or dust in the air. The temple nearby is a nice landmark for us. Sometimes the traffic in the market gets so backed up that we have to wait a while to move any stock. We don’t have any big corporate signs or anything like that. Just a simple door and a lot of work inside. We know most of the neighbors and the other shopkeepers in Gandhi Mandi. It’s a community where everyone knows what you’re doing. We keep our operations straightforward without much fuss. If a shipment is late, we just stay a bit longer to finish up. That’s just the way we run things here at our spot.
