Garb & Guise

Our office is at 14/5 Mathura Road, which is basically one long stretch of traffic and big buildings. It can be quite a headache getting here in the mornings because of the jams, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have a modest space that we’ve filled with desks and a lot of garment racks. The name sounds a bit more modern than we actually are. Inside, it’s just a lot of people checking measurements and looking at fabric swatches under a magnifying glass. We have a small pantry where the kettle is always boiling because we drink a lot of tea to get through the day. The windows look out onto the main road, so we see the metro trains passing by every few minutes. It’s a fast-paced area, but we try to keep things steady inside. We don't have any glossy brochures or a sales team. We just handle the orders as they come in and make sure the labels are sewn on right. The carpet is a bit worn out in places where the chairs move back and forth, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We don’t worry too much about that, though. As long as the work is getting done and the shipments are going out on time, we’re happy. It’s just a regular office where we put in our hours and then head back into the Mathura Road traffic. It’s a long commute for some of us, but we’ve got a good group here and that makes the day go by faster than you’d expect.
