Living and working around Market Number 1 in Faridabad N I T is always a noisy affair. At Bhutani Exclusives, we are right near the Hanuman Mandir, so Tuesday mornings are especially loud with the bells and the crowds. You can hear the chanting from inside the shop if the door is left open for a moment. We spend most of our time moving boxes around or trying to make more space on the hangers for new arrivals. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. Number 51 has been our base for a good bit now. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the market is really busy, and we just wait for the generator to kick in. It is just part of the routine. We get a lot of people who are just passing by after visiting the temple, so they pop in to see what is on the racks. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, which gives everything a warm look, though we should probably get around to changing those bulbs soon. We sit on small stools behind the main counter and talk about the news or the weather while waiting for the afternoon rush. Dealing with suppliers takes up a lot of the morning. It is a lot of phone calls and checking lists to see what arrived and what did not. The street outside is usually blocked with scooters, so getting deliveries to the door is always a bit of a headache for the drivers.
