Baldav General Store

The shop is right here in Palwal and we have been running Baldav General Store for a long time now. It is a small place but we try to keep most of the things people need daily. You will find bags of flour, different types of lentils, soaps, and those small packets of biscuits that the kids like. It stays pretty busy in the mornings when everyone is getting things for breakfast or their lunch boxes. I usually spend the afternoon restocking the shelves because things run out faster than you think. The store isn't very big, so it gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. We know most of the people who walk through the door because they live just a few streets away. Sometimes they stay to chat about the weather or how the local market is doing. We don't use any fancy computer systems here, just a simple notebook to keep track of things. It’s a lot of standing around and lifting heavy sacks, but it keeps us busy. The fan in the corner makes a lot of noise but it helps in the summer. We just open up early and stay until late evening. It is just a regular life running a store in a place like Palwal, nothing more than that. We just focus on keeping the bins full and the floor swept.
