Golden Waters

Our place is located within the Kumarakom Tourist Complex in Kumarakom North. We are right in the middle of the backwaters, so there is water and greenery all around the property. It is a very quiet area, except for the birds and the occasional boat engine in the distance. The buildings are designed to be simple and blend in with the trees. We have paths that lead down to the water, though they can get a bit muddy when it rains. Living out here means dealing with a lot of dampness and insects, so we spend a lot of our time cleaning and trying to keep things dry. The rooms are basic and comfortable enough for a stay in the countryside. We serve local food in the dining area, mostly things that are easy to prepare. We don't have a big corporate team running things; it’s just us and a few helpers from the local village. People come here when they want to get away from the noise of the city and just sit by the water for a few days. It takes a lot of work to keep the plants from taking over the buildings. We are constantly trimming the bushes and sweeping the leaves. It’s a slow life here, and we don’t try to make it something it isn’t. We just look after the place and the people who stay with us.
