Balaji Cement Agency

We set up our agency on Agra Road, right near Shri Krishna Inter College. It is a busy spot because of the school being so close. In the mornings and afternoons, the road is full of students and buses. We have to time our truck deliveries so we don't get stuck in the school rush twice a day. The warehouse is full of cement bags stacked up high toward the ceiling. It is heavy work and there is always a fine layer of gray dust on our clothes and boots. We don't have a fancy showroom for people to browse. It is just a counter and the storage area. People from the college sometimes pop in to ask for directions or just for a bit of help. We have a small radio that plays in the background to keep us company while we wait for the next order. Agra Road is always humming with noise from the bikes and trucks. When the rains come, we have to move fast to make sure no water gets near the cement bags. That would be a real disaster for us. We just keep things simple and honest. My son helps with the heavy lifting when he is not busy with his own things. We know most of the regular builders in this part of town. They just call us up and we get the bags loaded. It is a basic business but it keeps us busy.
