Subhash Nagar is where we mostly get together, specifically at Pushpendra Singh’s spot in Kasganj. We are a bunch of farmers from around the Etah area who decided that we needed to stick together. Dealing with the middlemen was getting to be too much, and we thought if we had a proper company name, maybe people would take our work more seriously. It is a bit of a stretch sometimes, trying to keep up with all the rules, but we manage. The 207241 area has been our home forever, and we know these fields like the back of our hands. We grow what the land gives us, mostly staying busy with the usual local crops. Sometimes the tractor breaks down or the monsoon comes late, and that’s when being in this group really matters because someone is always there to help out. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, some basic tools, and the hope that we can get a decent return for all the sweat we put into the ground. Etah is a quiet place for the most part, and we like it that way. When we meet up at Pushpendra's, it’s usually to talk about who has the best yield or how to fix a leaky roof. We just do the work and try to keep things moving forward for our families.
