Tilok Chand And Co

We are set up at number 5 in the Lakshmi Complex. It's right on Bhavani Main Road in Chithur. The complex is quite busy with different shops, so there's always a lot of activity around us. Tilok Chand And Co has been a part of this area for years. We do wholesale and retail trading, mostly. Inside, the shop is packed with goods from floor to ceiling. We use ladders to get things down for customers. It can get a bit cramped when there are more than three people inside at once. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. The counter is made of dark wood and has been worn down by years of use. We write out our receipts by hand most of the time. It feels more personal that way, even if it takes a bit longer. Chithur is a good place to be because everyone knows everyone else. We see the same faces every week. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to know what we have, they just walk in or give us a call on the landline. It's a traditional way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far. We just show up and do our work. When the rainy season comes, we have to watch the doorstep, but otherwise, it's a steady life here.
