Sri Sivan & Co

If you know Sathy Road, you probably know where we are. We sit at number 136, right near the RR Lodge. It’s a good spot because people stay there and then walk over to see what we have. Sri Sivan & Co has been a family name for a long time. We aren't a big corporation. It’s just me, my cousin, and a couple of helpers. We sell various goods and supplies that local people need. The shop has high ceilings and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is hitting the road hard outside. We have old wooden shelves that have been there since the beginning. They are a bit creaky but they hold the stock just fine. We don't do much advertising. People just see the sign when they are driving past on Sathy Road. We spend a lot of time chatting with the neighbors and the people staying at the lodge. It’s a social way to make a living. Sometimes the traffic is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. We open the shutters at eight and we don't close them until the sun is well down. There is a small desk in the corner where I do the bookkeeping. It’s a simple setup. We don't promise anything fancy, just that we are here and we have the items we say we have. We hope to stay here for many more years.
