Universal Engineering

Universal Engineering is based out of 12- B Mallichamper Complex in the Manickampalayam area. It’s a busy workshop and there is always the sound of machines running or metal hitting metal. We handle a variety of engineering jobs for people around here. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil but that’s just part of the job. We aren't the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We are usually in our work clothes with grease on our hands. The complex gets quite loud during the day so we have to shout sometimes to be heard over the noise. We started this place because we like building things and fixing things that other people might just throw away. Our tools are old but they are well-maintained and they still do exactly what they need to do. Manickampalayam has a lot of small industries like ours and we all kind of look out for each other. Sometimes a job is more complicated than it looks on paper and we have to spend a few late nights getting it right. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room so if you come by you’ll probably find us right in the middle of a project. It’s hard work and it’s often dirty but it feels good to finish a job well.
