Ladhikha Leathers

Ladhikha Leathers is over at 51/6, Pari Nagar in Palayapalayam. We are quite close to the Rotary Hall, which is a big landmark that most people in the area use for directions when they are coming to visit. Our shop is just a regular building on a street that stays pretty busy with local traffic and people walking by. We don't have any bright neon signs or anything like that. There is just a simple board with the name on it above the door. Inside, we have our workspace where we keep all the leather and the tools we use. It smells strongly of tanned hides, which is something we've grown to like over the years. The floor is concrete and we have a few old benches for sitting when we take a break. We start our work quite early in the morning before the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. Pari Nagar is a nice enough area, and we know many of the other shop owners around us. We often see the same people walking by every day. It’s a small-town feeling even though there is a lot of business happening around the corner. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still hand-written in big ledgers. It is a practical way of doing things that works for us. When people come by, they usually just walk in and talk to us directly. We aren't big on formalities. It is just us and the daily work.
