Our shop is right on Vasuki Street, not too far from Sengunthar Higher Secondary School. Being in Erode Ho means there is always something going on outside our door. Most days we are just buried in cables and open computer towers. It is a bit cramped in here because of all the spare parts and old monitors we keep for parts, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time cleaning out dust from fans or trying to get old laptops to boot up again. Sometimes people bring in machines that look like they haven't been turned on in a decade. We just sit at the back bench with the soldering iron and see what can be saved. The school kids come in sometimes needing things for their classes, or people from the nearby offices drop off their printers when they start making that grinding noise. It’s not fancy. We have a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit while they wait, and the fan stays on all day because of the Erode heat. We don’t really have a big team, just a few of us who know our way around a motherboard. We started this place because we liked messing with electronics, and now it’s just what we do every day from morning until late evening. There’s always a stack of paperwork on the desk and a half-empty tea cup somewhere. It’s just a normal local shop trying to keep the neighborhood’s tech running without too much fuss.
