Standard Engineers

Standard Engineers is located right at the First Mile on Am Road in Iringole. It’s a busy part of Perumbavoor and there is always noise from the traffic going past. We do a lot of different engineering work here, mostly stuff that people bring in when they have a problem with a machine or a part that broke. Our workshop isn't the cleanest place in the world because there is always grease and metal shavings around, but that is just how it goes when you are working with tools all day. Sometimes the rains make it hard to get things moved around the yard but we manage. We’ve got a small crew and most of us have been doing this for years. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing fancy drawings unless we absolutely have to. Most of the time it is just measuring things by hand and making sure the fit is right. If you are driving down Am Road you can’t really miss us near the First Mile. It can get pretty hot inside the shed during the summer months but we keep the fans going. People from around Iringole usually just drop by with their projects and we see what we can do. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We don't have a big marketing department, just a sign out front and word of mouth from people we’ve helped before.
