Movamichi Wire Engineers

Panangad is where we set up Movamichi Wire Engineers. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the big city centers, which suits us just fine. We work with wire here, bending it and cutting it to size. The floor is usually covered in little offcuts of metal that get stuck in your boot if you aren't careful. We have a couple of old machines that still run better than the new ones we bought last year. It’s funny how that happens. You expect the shiny new stuff to be perfect, but the old gear has its own way of working. Most of our day is spent listening to the hum of the motors. We don’t really do much advertising or anything fancy. People in the area just know where we are. If someone needs wire work done, they usually just walk in and talk to one of the guys near the entrance. We have a small kettle in the corner that’s almost always on. Coffee and tea keep us going through the afternoon slump. Sometimes we run out of supplies and someone has to drive out to get more, which is a nice break from the shop floor. It’s a simple business. We do the work, lock up the gates at night, and come back the next morning to do it all over again. It’s nothing special, just honest labor in Panangad. It keeps us busy and pays the bills for the families involved.
