B Mart

You can find B Mart on Thrissur Road in the Kothakulangara area of Angamaly. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always a lot of cars and buses going past our front door. We are a local mart where people come for their daily groceries and household items. The shelves are usually packed with everything from rice and lentils to soap and snacks. It’s a bit of a juggle keeping everything stocked, especially when the delivery trucks show up and block the parking for a bit. We started this place to serve the families living around Kothakulangara. The shop isn't as big as the supermarkets in the city, but we try to have the essentials. Our floors are tiled and we have a few fans going to keep it cool, though it still gets warm when the shop is full of shoppers. Most of the staff are locals who know the regular customers by name. We don't have those fancy self-checkout machines; it’s just us at the counter ringing things up and bagging them. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next delivery, which is just part of running a small store. It’s a noisy, lively place with people coming in for milk in the morning or snacks in the evening. We keep it simple and just focus on getting the shelves filled every day. People around Angamaly know we’re here for the basics.
