R E Traders

You’ll find R E Traders in the Kunjan Memorial Building. We are right opposite the Airapuram Bhagavathi Temple. It’s a peaceful enough spot most of the time, though it gets very crowded during festival times when the temple is busy. Our shop is where we handle various trading goods. We’ve been in this building for a few years now. The space is a bit cramped because we keep a lot of stock on hand, so you have to watch your step. Sometimes the boxes are stacked almost to the ceiling. We spend the day dealing with walk-in customers and people calling from out of town to check on their orders. It’s a lot of counting and double-checking invoices to make sure things match up. We aren't doing anything fancy here. It’s just a straightforward trading business. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk with the neighbors. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch until late in the afternoon. The building itself is older, which gives it some character, though it has its quirks. We’ve got a small desk where we do all the accounts by hand mostly. It’s a local way of doing things. We know the people around Airapuram well. It’s a nice community to be part of. We just try to keep the right items in stock so nobody has to go too far to find what they need. It's regular work.
