Down here in Ernakulam, specifically over at Thuruthi Mana Sreehari in Tripunithura, we’ve been running things for a while. Being in the home solutions business means we see a lot of people coming in with ideas for their houses. Some want a new look, others just need to fix something that broke. It’s a lot of talking to neighbors and folks from around the Thamaramkulangara area. We aren't a big corporate machine that doesn't care; we live around here too. The shop is usually full of stuff, and sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you need right away, but we’ll help you dig through it. Retail is a lot of standing on your feet and answering the same questions about colors or materials. We don’t have some grand philosophy about it. We just want to make sure you get the right part for your kitchen or the right tiles for the floor. The humidity here in Kerala can be something else, and it makes the work a bit slower in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. It’s a family kind of atmosphere, where we know the local regulars by name. We just open up the doors every morning, sweep the front, and wait to see who walks in with a project they’re trying to finish up at home. It is just basic retail work, and we are happy to be part of the community.
