Credible Spices Private Limited

Our place is out in Pazhamthottam, which is part of Pattimattom. If you know the area, we are at Kanjiravelil House. It’s a quiet spot compared to the middle of the city, and that suits the spice business well. Credible Spices is what we call it, but mostly we are just known locally as the folks at the house doing spice work. Every morning the smell of the stuff we are processing hangs heavy in the air. It’s a mix of different things depending on what we have that week. We spend a lot of time sorting through raw materials and getting them ready. There is a lot of hand-sorting involved because machines don’t catch everything. The house itself is old and sturdy, with plenty of room for storage. We use the back area for most of the heavy lifting. Living and working in the same general area means we don't have to deal with much of a commute, which is a blessing in Ernakulam. We keep things simple here. There are no big meetings or corporate suits, just people in comfortable clothes doing manual work. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to keep everything perfectly dry, so we’re always checking the roof and the windows. It’s a steady life and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the seasons and how they affect the spices and our daily workflow.
