We are located over in Kakkanad, right across from the CSEZ. The address says Sadhgamaya, and that is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a busy part of Kochin, especially with all the traffic coming in and out of the economic zone. Inside the building, things are usually loud because of the machinery we use to make gears. There is always a smell of oil and cut metal in the air. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a nice suit. Most of us are in work clothes that usually end up with a few grease stains by lunchtime. We’ve been here for quite some time now. The heat in Kochi can get pretty intense, so the fans are always running at full speed. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of life here. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just focus on getting the gears right so they work like they are supposed to. People know where to find us if they need parts for their machines. It's a straightforward operation without any unnecessary bells and whistles. We keep the floor as clean as we can, but it’s an industrial job, so there’s always something to sweep up. It’s good work, and we like being part of the Kakkanad community. There are a lot of good people around here and the tea stall nearby is always busy.
