About Anjali Flour Mills – Housewares & Supplies in Ernakulam
We've been here at Rajagiri Housea for quite some time now. People in South Tripunithara know us because of the sound of the machines. It’s a bit loud when everything is running, especially in the mornings when the queues start. We get a lot of grain coming in from the local houses and some bigger bags too. Eroor is a busy enough place and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Most days it’s just me and a couple of others keeping an eye on the grinders and making sure the flour comes out right. It gets dusty, that’s just how it is with a mill. You can’t really help it. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors once we shut for the evening. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there waiting for it to come back so we can finish the work. People stop by to chat while their grain is getting processed. It’s not a fancy place by any means. Just a simple setup with heavy machinery and bags stacked against the walls. We keep the machines oiled and running. If a belt snaps, we fix it ourselves. It’s practical work. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk in the corner for the records and the cash box. It’s how it has been for years and we just keep going day by day. We've seen kids grow up and bring their own families here now. It’s just how things go.
