Aiswarya Saloon

Aiswarya Saloon is a small shop located in Thevara, Ernakulam. We’ve been sitting right here in this spot for a good while, serving the local guys who live nearby. It’s a basic place with the usual barber chairs and a couple of fans to keep the humidity away. Ernakulam gets really hot, so those fans are always running. We do haircuts, shaves, and the occasional head massage if someone has the time. Thevara is a nice area, quite busy with students and people working in the city. You’ll often find a few people sitting on the bench inside, reading the newspaper or just chatting while they wait for their turn. We don’t take appointments or anything formal like that; you just walk in and wait for the chair to open up. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast on a busy morning, so we’re always sweeping. My tools are old but they work fine because I take care of them. Sometimes the radio is playing some local music in the background. It’s not a fancy salon with air conditioning and expensive products. It’s just a regular barbershop where you can get a clean cut for a fair price. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It’s a simple life, but we like being part of the community here. Even when it's raining hard outside, we keep the shop open for whoever needs a trim. We’ve been through many monsoons in this little shop.
