Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi

It might be confusing with the name, but you will find us out here at the Mosaboni Mines in the New Colony area of Jharkhand. We are located at Ncbl-1/2, which is quite a distance from the busy streets of New Delhi. Life here is centered around the mining area and the community that lives and works in this part of the state. Our building is a bit of a landmark for the locals, standing in the new colony where things are still developing. We spend our time managing the day-to-day needs of the people staying with us, many of whom are here for work at the mines. It’s a very different environment than a city hotel; it’s more about providing a solid place to rest after a long shift. The air can be a bit heavy with the dust from the operations nearby, so we are always cleaning the windows and the porch. We have a small staff who mostly live within walking distance, so we all know each other well. We don't have the fancy amenities of a big city branch, but we have clean beds and a kitchen that serves hot food. It’s a quiet life most of the time, except when the shifts change and the roads get busy. We just keep the doors open and the lights on for whoever needs a place to stay while they are out here in Mosaboni. It is practical work for practical people.
