Down in Deorali, right beside Hotel Golden Grand, is where you will find us. Gangtok is a hilly place, so building here isn’t always the easiest thing. S2Udio Inc has been operating out of this spot for a bit. We mostly look at how to make spaces work in this terrain. It’s cold some mornings, but we get the office opened up and start on the day's tasks. We aren't a huge team, just a few people who know their way around a floor plan. Sometimes we are out on site and other times we are stuck inside because of the rain. The weather here really dictates what we can get done. We deal with all sorts of design questions. It might be a shop fit-out or maybe a house that needs a fresh look. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just draw things up and try to make sure they can actually be built. Being near the hotel makes us easy to find if you are wandering around Deorali. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. It’s a busy street but we’ve gotten used to the noise. If you drop in, you might see a mess of papers on the table. That’s just how we work. We focus on the practical side of things because that is what matters at the end of the day.
