Hostia Guru

Up here in Gangtok, things move at a different pace, but we keep busy at Hostia Guru. We are located in the East Sikkim area. It’s mostly just a few of us sitting behind screens dealing with web stuff and hosting. The weather outside is usually nicer than the glow of the monitors, though we get a lot of mist coming through some days. We started this because we noticed people around here needed someone local to talk to about their websites instead of calling a giant company in a different time zone. Our office isn't anything special. It’s just a practical space where we can focus. Sometimes the internet acts up when the weather gets really bad, but we manage. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting things that shouldn't have broken in the first place. It is a lot of trial and error. We don't use big words to describe what we do. If a site is down, we fix it. If someone needs a domain, we set it up. It’s straightforward work. We like being based in Sikkim. It’s home for us. You might find us grabbing tea nearby when we aren't stuck fixing a server issue. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but we’re still in the same spot, just doing what we know how to do. It’s not a flashy business, just a steady one for the folks who know where to find us.
