Manik Store

Our store is located at 5-241 in Papakollu, which is part of Julurupad Mandal. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower here than in the cities. We have been running Manik Store from this small building for years. Most of our customers are farmers or people who live in the village. We sell the basics like seeds, soap, cooking oil, and snacks. Sometimes we get bigger items if someone asks for them in advance. The store is just one large room with shelves lining the walls. We have a small porch out front where people often sit for a bit of shade. It’s a quiet life in Papakollu. We open early before the heat gets too bad. My wife helps me with the accounts in the evenings. We don't have a computer or anything fancy. Just a few ledgers. We know which families need what. During the harvest season, we stay quite busy. Other times, it’s just a few people a day. We keep a stock of cold drinks in the small fridge we have in the corner. That’s a big draw when the weather is hot. We aren't trying to grow into a giant supermarket. This is just our way of getting by and helping the village have what it needs without traveling too far. It’s a modest place, but it’s ours and we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home.
