We have been working with crafts here in Laxmi Nagar for a while now. It is a family-run kind of thing, mostly. The workshop is right in the back where we do all the cutting and assembly. It gets quite noisy when the machines are running, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We don't have a big storefront with lights. It is more of a practical workshop where we get things made. There are piles of materials everywhere, from wood scraps to bits of metal and fabric. We take orders from people who need specific things done, and we just work through them one by one. Sometimes we fall behind when the weather is bad or if someone gets sick, but we always catch up. Ramesh Park is a lively neighborhood, and we like being part of it. It’s not a fancy business at all. We wear work clothes and our hands are usually dirty by noon. We just focus on making things that are solid and useful. People come to us because they know we are right here in the lane and they can just knock on the door to see how their order is coming along. It is a lot of hard work but it feels good to finish a piece.
