V R Engineers

V R Engineers is on the ground floor of Plot No. 326. We are right on Siddhartha Street in Mandawali. It’s pretty close to Mother Convent School, so we hear the bells and the kids playing during their breaks. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. Most days it’s just us figuring out how to fix things or getting through a stack of metal parts. It gets a bit crowded with all the equipment we have shoved into the space. Sometimes the power cuts out for an hour and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit of air. We do a lot of small jobs for people who live around here. It isn’t anything fancy or high-tech. There’s always dust on the desks and oil on the floor. Most of our tools have been around as long as the shop itself. We start early when the air is still somewhat cool before the traffic picks up. Mandawali is a busy place, so there’s always noise from the street. You get used to it after a while. We don't spend much time on computers unless we really have to. Most of the work happens with our hands and a bit of sweat. People drop by without calling and we just try to see what we can do for them. It’s a simple setup. We just keep our heads down and finish the work. The concrete stays cold in the winter and we usually keep the tea kettle going.
